The case for concrete
Why polished
concrete.
A properly polished slab is the floor you stop replacing. No coatings to peel, no fibres to shed, no adhesives breaking down underfoot. The material is already there — we're refining what the building was poured on.
01
A 30–50 year floor
With routine maintenance, a polished slab outlasts every soft-flooring system on the market — and most hard ones.
02
Zero VOCs, no adhesives
Mechanical polishing densifies the concrete itself. No glues, no underlay, no off-gassing into the room.
03
Dust-free once sealed
Densifiers lock the surface closed. A finished slab stops shedding the powder raw concrete is known for.
04
Lower embodied carbon
Polishing what's already poured avoids the replacement cycle of tile, vinyl, or carpet — and the carbon that comes with each one.
How we work
A documented, repeatable protocol.
01
Site Assessment
Hardness, moisture, and aggregate testing on your existing slab.
02
Mock-up
A real 1.2 × 1.2 m sample polished on your floor — approve the actual finish.
03
Prep & Repair
Cracks routed, joints filled with semi-rigid polyurea, coatings removed.
04
Grind, Polish & Protect
Diamond passes 30–3000 grit, densified and protected to the chosen specification.
